do any of you folks know a place in town that has professional type detailing products?

I have upgraded my buffer/polisher to a PC 7424 and I need the hook and loop (aka Velcro) type pads. Meguiares (sp) makes a good pad but when I go to autozone or the like they look at me like I'm from Mars. I also need some DCAP (dual action cleaner polish) and a few other things. I can order them of the Web, but hate to wait on the whole shipping process.

Thanks

Slightly off the subject, but you got a Porter Cable 7424? DANG! Did you get a good deal on one somewhere or just bite the bullet and fork out the $150 or so they usually get?

I would try the Sherwin Willams store on 6th Ave South. Its at the corner of 6th and Peabody.

Found a good dela after looking for a while http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/port/pr7424.htm?L+coastest+dqlq5896ff370137+1082743027

The deal came with a 6in backing plate (18002) which is contoured to help avoid backing plate slip up's. It also had the 6 ounce counterweight which will help when using larger pads.

Costal Tool was awesome to deal with had it here in no time and excellent customer service.

You can use mine if you need to Tung.. It's just that the buffer that I had from Sears is not strong enough to take the swirls outa black.

I checked at Lowes because I heard that their PC7424 wa $109, but when i went they didnt carry it in stock and was $159 special order.

$119 is not a bad price at all for the extras that come with it! I may have to obtain one of these. :D

I looked at the Meguiares (sp) Truck at the 40th and they want an arm and a leg for the same dang thanig. Griots Garage is way over priced too. If you get one can we pratice on the Blazer?

I wouldn't waste my own spit on cleaning the Blazer's paint. That truck is in bad need of a repaint.

 dont be so hard on the ole Blazer now......

The PC should be pretty safe and not burn paint so I guess I will start on my 97.

Well I ordered off the web so I went ahead and ordered the ones that I wanted. They are Lake County Pads. They are 7.5 inch pads and I read great things about them.

If i dont like them I will chek out the 3m pads. Thanks for the tip

I get all my stuff from the Blue Coral dealer here in Clarksville, they are on 9th or 10th street downtown.
