Well, atleast I think it is. I honestly can't remember the last time I've posted on here. Anyways, if any of you even remember I was putting an M30B35 into my '84 e30. I did get it running although not all too well. It actually developed a bad miss and would barely run. So, I decided to just convert it over to MSII, and I am still in the process of doing that. I still need to finish up making another wiring harness, and whatnot. I then still need to do all the tuning and stuff.
These are a couple of short videos I got when I first got the car running. First video is at about half throttle. Second is about 3/4 throttle. When I did actually get full power out of the car without even flooring it, it easily broke the tires, well a tire-no LSD yet, loose at about 25-30mph, and spun until about 50mph. Given this is on some old nearly bald 195/60-14's, but still. Anyways, if anyone cares I can go into more detail of what all I'm doing in my MSII conversion later.

Note: Yes I do know I have some exhaust leaks. This is my first attempt at making an exhaust for the car not including muffler and cat of course. Manifolds are stock, but I did have to make the downpipes, which look like crap. I'll redo them at some point in time.

lol Well, I kinda doubt it. I haven't actually had the car driving out on the road anywhere except around here at my house. There are a few other e30s around in middle TN that are modded. Especially any of the ones that have anything to do with Treehouse Racing.

What is a M30B35 for those of us that don't speak Bavarian?

The M30B35 is a 3.5 liter inline 6 cylinder. Rated, depending on year, around 211bhp and 224lbft if I recall correctly for this specific version. The M30 family itself was used from 1968 to 1994. Starting at 2.5 liters up to 3.5 liters. From 88' to 92' are obviously the newest and most refined of all the engines.
"One of BMW's most reliable engines, powering big cars from Bavaria's (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/bavaria.htm) in the 60s (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/newclass/index.htm), 5 (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/5_series.htm) and 6 Series (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/6_series.htm) cars in the 70s (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/newsixes/70s.htm) and 80s (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/years/80s.htm) to long-wheelbase 7 Series Sedans (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/7_series.htm) in the 90s."
Road and Track magazine called the engine "without a doubt the most sophisticated inline six in the world."-1971
That 6-cylinder engine was designed by Baron Alexander von Falkenhausen, a racing legend and the architect of the New Class (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/newclass/index.htm) and New Six (http://www.bmwworld.com/models/newsixes/index.htm) engines. It was a Hemi-head engine -- a triple hemispheric, swirl-action combustion chamber cylinder head -- to be precise. With an overhead camshaft, and a crankshaft that has 7 main bearings and 12 balance weights.
Basically, it's like the Chevy 350 for BMW.

Yeah, I've been kinda achin' to go to the track. I'll try and get down there this Friday. It will still be a little while before I get the car running though. Those videos were before I started to do my stand alone engine management system, or whatever you wanna call it. I got my stuff to mount my coils yesterday. I'm using the DIS control module from a Pontiac Transport. I had to rewire the inside of it so I can control the coils with Megasquirt. Still gotta finish the wiring harness, and make some bezels to mount my autometer gauges. Then, LOTS of tuning.

Another update. Wiring harness is pretty well done. Just have to finish up some grounds, and make it look not so ****ty looking. I know I need a new dash also.;)

Any plans to autocross it?

Yeah, I would like to, but I won't even try it until I get the suspension upgraded and some 16" wheels with good tires on them. I plan to go with a Ground Control coil over setup. Not real sure on wheels or tires yet though. That won't come until next spring probably.
