Seriously, not a single post in 30 days...that's just sad.

Keeping one car on the track is hard($$) enough.

I hear ya man. But I will I will...just as soon as my Bridgestones are almost dead. :D I don't think it'd be right to go tearing into some new PS2's. Some Euro floating rotors, new pads, SS brake lines and fresh fluid are in order too...as well as a revised TC Klein suspension. So many things on the menu, so little cash in the wallet. :stare2:

No more Beemers for me, and (like no more fords for me) not the fault of the cars, but of the stealerships. We loved our little Z3 and I would have been first in line for a Z4-M had they (BMW of Nashville) treated us as well AFTER the warranty ran out as they did before. It was like going from BMW to Yugo when the warranty expired as far as service and support....

Good luck with the M3 - love their 300+ HP 6 and think it would have been a scream in the Z3 chassis but... I vote with my wallet...

I would love to see more activity in this section, but the sad fact is that not many euro-car enthusiasts have signed up here. The easiest way to fix that problem is to spread the word among your friends. ;)

While we're talking about european cars, I was riding with my family to the preds game sat when a m5 blew our doors off. we ended up behind him at a light on 4th, and my dad floored his Youkon XL when the light turned green, and my dad's truck isn't fast, but it's not SLOW (yeah yeah it's slow compared to your cars, but it's not slow slow) but that M5 was gone... and he wasn't going all out from the light. It sounded good too :) so that's my euro story.

This is a sad fact. Sometimes I wonder if the people that work there know who pays their bills and puts food on their family's tables. That's why I try to do what I can myself and I've got a great BMW specialty shop. Whenever I go to the dealership I treat them like the scum of the earth...might as well return the favor.

Don't let a bad dealer ruin your bimmer ownership experience. Just find ways away around their stupidity...possibly @ a Porsche dealership. Although I'm not sure they'd treat you much better (in service).

One thing I'll add...at Lexus, those service advisors will bend over backwards to kiss your ass 3 ways til Sunday. BMW could learn a thing or two.

Wish I could say I have an E36 M3 like you (or an E46 like Good2GetBlown's), those are absolutely awesome cars. I've always loved them - who knows, maybe one of these days...

Sweet. Thanks for the posting those pics. That "Vahrshteinah" rep reminds me of that Vlad (r3vlimited.com, probably s14.net as well) guy's E30 M3; purists hate him for dropping in that Euro S52 (I think), but you can't deny that power. You can't deny his $$$, either. :stare2:

Just make sure its got gas and oil in it and go. You can still have fun for just $30, and you don't HAVE to squeal the tires.;) Mine is pretty much stock and it has plenty of body roll but you can still get around fairly quickly.

Wow- euro activity! It does seem like most everything on here is American or Japanese-related. Oh well- glad to see some other euro guys around here.

I used to have in Integra back in 2000, but sold it and it has been all euro from there: 96 M3, 89 635csi, 92 325i, 95 E320, 95 911 and 98 540i. Oh yeah, and the VW Bus.

Oh yeah, forgot I had an MR2 turbo in there! I guess I'll never fully get away from the Japanese cars!

03Ragtop- I didn't realize you guys had a 323i. I just got my wife a 2000 a few months back. I should have her bring it out to the track and her and Katie can go at it!

Bilsteins HDs are perfect for a stockish suspension and really transform the way the car feels. For a softer stock type ride they have "touring" shocks. I need to get my wife convinced she can auto-x;) .

Man, your question made me think a bit. I honestly don't know how much I'd want for it, it's never crossed my mind to sell it. Two and a half years of blood, sweat and tears, you know what I mean? ;)

1989 is a good year for the 325is, no airbag, plastic bumpers. I had an '89 myself before this white one - but I totaled it. :( There are still very strong sides to the "pre-facelift" models, though; the shape of the tail lamps are more aesthetically pleasing to me, and so is the height of the rear wheel arches (not as low as the later ones). The "diving board" bumpers are not very sleek, but once changed over to the European chrome bumpers I actually like the look better than I do the plastic.

There are people that are completely biased against any type of car, and there are people that form opinions about the drivers of any car. I just simply call them ignorant under my breath and ignore them. But, in answer to your question about whether VW guys jsut take excessive pride in our cars.... All of us that I hang out with do take pride in our cars, but that's not to say that we think that they are the fastest coolest things on earth either. While my car is a lot faster than it should be, I realize that I have no chance against a lot of the cars on this site.

There are quite a few really nice VWs around though. Here's a few local ones that no one apparantly ever sees... MKII Golf Rallye VR6T: huge honkin turbo, gobs of power, AWD Synchro drivetrain, built by NGP Racing as their shop demo car; what was formerly a Corrado: used to be a 'rado SLC, got turbod, got a synchro drivetrain in the guys garage, got decided that it somehow wasn't fast enough, now is almost done getting a built R32 motor, with boost of course, think something probably in the range of HPA's stuff, R32 drivetrain, yeah... it's going to raise some heck, and the guy is doing all this himself, not some shop. R32 powered MKIV Jetta; Stage 4 S4; and of course a random sampling of other turbo'd and AWD stuff that shouldn't be.

Most of the VW guys around here just stick to the BIG sites like VWVortex, with a little bit of TNDUBS thrown in for good measure. For the technical stuff, vortex all the way. That and to be honest, there's a lot more guys like me that own euro's but never check the euro lounge, b/c there is never anything going on in here. Although, I'd love to see that in the past.
