Here is the deal here all the cars I have ever owned have been built for straight line and now I am looking at going the autox/road race direction with the coupe. I will not get wild with this one, the few bolt on mods that I have now will be it for a long time or untill I run across a good deal ya know. I really want to just focus on the suspension and tires on this car.
I have found a fair deal ( atleast I think it is a good deal ) on some shocks, struts, springs http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/tokico/details?part_num=ILK212&products=1&part_category=ILK%20Suspension%20Kit&specific_fit=1987%20-%201993%20FORD%20Mustang%205.0%20V8&session_id=3e8ca4bf53bfc43704474996966b9f55 . Maybe somone can tell me if the "kit" are worth buying ? I am sure there are better parts out there but that is kind of the price range I am looking for so I am open to other sudjestions along the same lines.
I have no real idea on what to look for in tires, the biggest thing is I do drive the car to work some ( a whopping 10.5 miles one way ) and do some rather "spirited" driving at times :naughty:. Anouther thing I have no idea if I should try and keep with any speed raited tire because of the load the tires are under on some of the corners or if that would make any real differance ? Also I do want to try and keep with the stock 10 holes (15x7.5 I think) for now since I do not have the money to spend on anouther set of wheels.
Sway bars, controlls arms, and sub frame conectors will come later but for time being shocks, struts, and tires are some things the car could use now/soon so that is why I am really just starting here with it.
You can get some Falken Azenis RT-615's for pretty cheap in most any performance size. They are very grippy.

You should look at the rules for the type of racing you want to do first. Find the classing of your car including any modifications you have made and look to see what is allowed in your class before you buying anything.

Start with thier basic package and grow with it. I had lots of shock and spring combos on my GT, but the bilstein, H&R spring combo was without a doubt the best. I replaced a lot of already aftermarket suspesion components with MM stuff. Thier quality is much better than most and their packages take out all the guesswork. If I every buy another mustang, it will have nothing but MM suspension parts under it.

Thanks Mike, I had thought about MM's stuff but when I browsed their site I did not see alot of stuff that intersited me. I did think about getting strange shock/struts and coil overs since I can get them at a decent deal but I did not know how well they would work since they were not a "charged" strut. I will look alot closer at MM's stuff and see if I can find something that will work better for me maybe.
Chadwick, I doubt that I would ever make an event but if I did it would have to be just a novice event or something just for fun ( I guess they have like a test and tune type deal ? ). But mostley this will just "spirited" driving car so I can play around with my friends who have cars that are alot more sport then the fox chassis.

Check out the starter box setup. Bilstein shocks/struts, H&R race springs, new poly bushings for the springs, and caster camber plates. It's right at $1k. Expensive, but it is a great combo. I had strange, tokico, and bilsteins. The stranges wer noisy and weren't valved well for street use. The tokicos were ok, but the bilsteins were the best valving for a good handling street car.

Thanks again Mike, it looks like I may have to wait untill we install this new air screw at work ( should have to work some prety good weekend hours since thats the only time the plant is shut down ), so I will have some "free" money lol.

I have toyo proxes 4 on my civic (ultra high performance all weather radials) and they are like rails on the corners. I'd never have guessed that my car could take corners at that speed. I like toyo... :)
And they're a decent price. I think 80-90 each or so.

What about the FALKEN ZIEX ZE 512 tires they are a lil cheaper I know but I could not find the Azenis RT 615's in a 225.
They are a good DD tire. It's what I run on the supra. They aren't as grippy as the azenis by far.
If you can't find any in 225 try the Kuhmo Ecsta MX. It may be available in your size needs.

Thanks, I have 205's on here now but I would like atleast a 225 since it is a wider tire and they are stock spec tire so I know they will fit fine. I am open to any tire just as long as they are not too pricey.

azenis fit a lil wider than the usual tire... what about 225/50/15 or 215/50/15

Either would be fine, the stock tire for the car is a 225/60/15 and the car has 205/60/15 on it now.

well I figured I would give a lil update, I wound up getting some Toyo Proxes 4's in a 225-50 and they have rather good grip all around. I am just waiting on my Baer rotors to show up other then that I will be after the first of the year befor I get any more parts.

:D Just because I own a civic doesn't make me unintelligent. I don't know if you've noticed but I am yet to talk about things being "mad tyte" and whatever else civic owners are "supposed" to do. Besides, those tires are really good.
Don't be a hater just because you're jealous of my vehicle. ;) :D
