I would be interested to see what they have out there current;y. I can't imagine that the Nashville area is booming with the latest in HD radio. It took them 3 years to get high speed Verizon cell service out here. Memphis had it two years before us!!

My Alpine is HD ready, but I dunno.... I was in Des Moines Iowa a couple weeks ago, **read middle of freaking nowhere mid-america** and they had radio stations that kicked ass. Seems like Music city is the place where gay 80's songs come to die on the radio.

It's not cheap to buy into. (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BbVciWEBUgI/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=186650&avf=N) They say that it's free, but only the signal is free. You still have to listen to commercials. I'll stick with XM.....

Des Moines' radio market kicks a$$, I worked in it for 5 years. It is better than Nashvilles and WAY better than the idiots here in ATL.

Sweet, i need that Alpine ainet add on. I will probably get xm. I was just hearing all these commercials for HD and wanted to see if it was around. HD is free, you have to just buy an HD receiver. Same with regular radio, it is free, but you still have to buy a stereo :)

We put XM in my wife's car for her birthday. It rocks! There are nearly 200 channels on XM. How many channels are on HD radio right now, locally?

That's what I thought.

XM > HD. :)

I was thinking XM too, I mean so what if it's HD. In my car you can barely hear the radio over the fart can exhaust anyway!

the HD radios work pretty well just most of the stations that have converted to HD dont fully utilize the 3 available bands. 102.9 103.3 105.9 all broadcast HD and reception is great, they claim " cd quality". They can broadcast 2 more signals but do not.. 97.8 whatever wsix is they had 2 HD channels (HD1 and HD2) and broadcast differant music on each out of possiable 3 channels per freq. JVC makes the cheapest HD radio I know of so far it sells around $180

1510 am talk I think also brodcasts in hd. It is supposed to be much better than the regular am signal. I've listened to hd radio and it sounds a lot better than than the regular radio, plus a couple of the stations give you a couple different channels to listen to.
