Now that Sirius looks to have come up a few notches, which do you fine folks think would be the best for a weary traveler such as myself. I like talk radio the best, I also listen to rock and country. Never listen to new age, hip hop, rap, MOtown etc.
How bout it? XM or Sirius?

XM. We just put a Roady XT in the Xterra with eric96ser's help. It's a great little radio and the XM service itself rocks.
I believe that Sirius is still struggling financially.

Actually, though it may not seem that way, Sirius is in better financial condition than XM is right now. They dropped their sponsorship of MECA because they said they just didn't have the $1000 a year for it. (That's not the only reason)
XM is throwing money around left and right and Sirius is now catching up big time in the subscriber base.
Now, those things having been said, I still prefer XM programming.

I've been an XM subscriber since they only had about 300,000 subscribers. I love it!

If it were Satellite TV, that might matter.

It really is pretty worthless. My friend bought a new VW and Sirius came with the car. When the sales guy walked out and told her that he had activated the Playboy channel for her, she turned red as a tomato

I picked XM over Sirius, because of the radios. The Delphi radios looked better and the all the Sirius radios looked cheap to me. I've been happy the year and a half that I've had XM.

XM had the Playboy channel a few years ago. It was one of their "premium" offerings. It fizzled fairly quickly. Just seems pointless ......

I'm of the opinion that if I'm paying for the service I don't want the advertising bs. That's my main reason for considering sat. radio is so I can listen to music without having to listen to 10 minutes of commercials between songs. So Sirius is at the top of my list at the moment.

I listened to MAXIM on Sirius in a friends car on a road trip and it was Awesome! Good music, and funny talk.
But I own a Roadie XT. And have XM.
Really its all about what Brand Specific channels you want. Also From back in the day, XM seems to always be about a year ahead of Sirius in receiver technology.

Unfortunately ClearChannel has the rights to a few stations on XM. Channel 22 ("the Mix") comes to mind. Those channels have a few commercial breaks. It's only 5 or 6 channels as best I recall. And their programming sucks on those channels so no need to listen!

Same here. Then it might actually be worth what we are paying for it.

I wish My Cable bill was broken down and divided between my 97 or whatever "expanded" basic service channels. Then I could go through and put a check mark next to the 8-10 that I actually have ever watched. Cable is such a racket...

I don't theink either are justifible unless you drive alot. I'd rather get a radio that is Ipod ready and just load up on some music
When I was still livng in Bellevue, I drove with my brother from Nashville to here to visit the parents. We drove all night into teh moring, I listened to the comedy stations on XM all the way, it was great it kept us entertained for the 10 1/2hrs of driving.

You should try an Ipod ready radio. Mine is and I love it!! No excessive CD's around my Truck and I don't have to worry running out of stuff to listen to.

Appears to me that both services are doing well, with XM having a lead of over 2 million subscribers. It's amazing what 2 minutes of research on the internet can turn up.

So, Disney... have you bought a radio yet?
We put an XM (Roady XT) in my wife's Nissan earlier this month and she loves it. About a week after we activated it, I got a notice via email that I could get a free second tuner from them if I activated the second account ($7/mo for the second account). After listening to the huge selection of songs on hers, it was a no brainer to take advantage of it.
For being called the "Music City", radio stations in Nashville SUCK. I can't wait to have satellite radio in the Denali. :)

Anyone know if there is a Japanese station on the Sirius system anywhere?
I just happened across a Radio Korea(?) station a little while back and was curious if there was a Japanese station or programming.
