mport Alliance 2007

Brought to you by NextGear.

NextGear Don will be your contact for the meet.

This year we are going real big! We are expecting atleast 1000 cars this year. Import Alliance is teaming up with multiple websites and crews including http://www.nicoclub.com and http://www.em1crew.com. We will be adding a lot of new information about the meet so make sure you come back to the first of this thread for additional information.

We will be charging $1.00 per person for admittance to the meet. We are doing this to offset the price of the stadium.

The dates: July 14th and 15th.

On the 14th we will be kicking it in downtown Nashville partying and such!
There are races at the fairgrounds on Saturday night $5 to spectate $10 to race for all who are interested ill post the directions later. It's 8mins from the hotel.

The 15th is the actual meet!

Happenings at the meet:

1. We will be having seminars through out the day. We will have special guest speakers that will be giving demonstrations and talking about current topics.

2. There will be contests that people will be able to participate in during the day.

3. We are having a DynoDynamics dyno for everyone to test their cars. It will cost $50.00 for 2 pulls.

4. We are also having a section for a swap meet. Please bring your parts for sale.

5. There will be local and national vendors at the meet showing off there products and services.

The Place: Downtown Nashville at the Tennessee Titans Stadium(LP Field) in parking lot R next to the pedestrian Bridge.

Map: 1 Titans Way Nashville, TN 37213-1234, US

We are arriving at 10 a.m. on July 15th and staying until the last person leaves.

Hotel Info: Holiday inn express on broadway in downtown nashville
Mapquest: 920 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203 from wherever your coming from the phone # is 615-244-0150 to reserve a room

I hope everyone that can make it makes it, and everyone that pmed me about it helps me get the word out, and makes this a huge meet.. Feel free to bring some parts that you want to sell. If you are coming from out of state pm me or NextGearDon if you need directions on how to get there.

If he backed out on me, after my taking off from work to haul that car to TX, scheduling with my friends, and making a deal to deliver a complete driveline to a customer in TX, to show up at TNSPEED DAY with a car that can't even be boosted and it just sit there as some showpiece, I'm going to kill him. :f**ckingpissed:

I want to personally invite everyone to our meet. Thank you very much for your interest.

Since it is Import Alliance we would like the domestic cars to stay to a minimum. I will not turn you away if you show up but I hope you can understand that we will be parking you to one side. we only have a certain amount of parking and we expect the lots to be full.

If you were holding a Chevy, Ford, or Dogde meet and 10 Honda civics showed up I would expect that they would be parked to the side too.

We do not have separate parking for participants and attendees. Everyone is a participant. This is one large lot for everyone.

I really wish I'd been there that night. From what Chandler told me, there were a bunch of butthurt 600CC guys that were talking alot of crap. Please... it's 750's and up for TEAM FRANKLIN! I understand that Tyler's Z was super-quick, and putting a severe hurt on many 600's, and a worked 750 as well.

"You never had me... you never had your Bike."

Grimey
07-16-2007, 11:23 AM
"You never had me... you never had your Bike."

:stare2: Oh, snap!

In all fairness, the guy on the 750 was supercool about the whole thing. He was talking it up to other people who in turn talked to other people, etc., etc.. It was all in fun until other people/bikers came into discussions already taking place. Biker egos were being flexed and they started taking the funny remarks too seriously.:noize:

It would have only made it better if Moody was there... then we couple have made it even worse... "well if you beat the 350... we MIGHTTTT let you have a chance at the Supra..." (even though the two cars are close... the intimidation of Moody's turbo would of had them ALL shaken up)

07-16-2007, 11:54 AM
I was on my way down I-24W sunday morning, on my way to church, and about 5 seconds in front of me a little blue honda (i think) was following his friends and it appears he may have cut off a truck that spun him around and was pushing him down the interstate... the truck's grill was in the Honda guys driver side window. I was behind a few cars so I didn't see it being pushed, but I saw the smoke from the tires and as I drove by, the little boy driving the blue honda had the perfect "OH *****" look on his face (still in the car, probably had a pile of somethin stinky in his shorts).

His high school buddies had pulled over (4 or 5 cars) and were running back up the interstate towards him. Not sure exactly what happened, but it seemed as if the blue honda tried to whip it in front of the truck before he had clearance to do so.

Sunday was horrible for wrecks, I saw 3, including a blue/purple street bike laying on the side of 24-E at the Bell Road exit pretty torn up, no people around just a cop writing a report.

They had a few nice cars. The blue 240sx with the LSx was nice and there was a black STI with gold rims that was sharp. I liked the gold 77 2dr Impala "box" on 24"s too:-p. Would have been better if it had parking and show seperated everything kinda blended together. Best license plate was on the red supra "ILUVTTS".

Did anyone mention it was hot?

:stare2: Oh, snap!

In all fairness, the guy on the 750 was supercool about the whole thing. He was talking it up to other people who in turn talked to other people, etc., etc.. It was all in fun until other people/bikers came into discussions already taking place. Biker egos were being flexed and they started taking the funny remarks too seriously.:noize:

Were you there that night at SFX when Shane went and riled up a few of the bike guys in the gas station? I had my "air-fuel" programmer  and Carl in the passenger seat. The bike guys were laughing, until we raced. For some reason, alot of bike guys think cars have no chance against a bike. After that, we ended up racing Shane on his slow bike. :naughty:

Waiting for Shane to ask about the last time I raced his bike. :(

it sucks to hear people complaining about the meet. i personally thought it was a lot of fun(i was working and still had fun!), and yall only had to pay a dollar. Its not like profit was made on this meet, this meet was put on for you guys. Its not hot import nights or nopi, its a meet, there is ALWAYS half done projects at meets. Its the average guy/girl bringing their ride out, simple as that.

ps-props to wisa on rippin up her sideskirt on a light pole and for almost running over amir, i never knew he could move that quick!

:noize:

You're right, I don't know why I expected more.

We are expecting atleast 1000 cars this year.

Should be the largest import car meet in the country.

I know everyone worked hard, but it's my duty to hate on stuff.

Maybe when it's actually finished. It still had gaping holes in the "interior" and nothing in the interior other than the dashboard. The front wheels didn't seem to fit under the fenders, either. He was just trailering it in and out . He's done a lot of work on it, but it's got a lot left to be done.

Logisiticly some things went down and the events did not happen. We are working on next years event to make it bigger and better. It will be a 2 day event(All day Saturday and Sunday).
The turn out exceeded our expectations. We had over 1000 cars and over 2000 people to attend.
Thank you everyone that attended.

Rusty, Ill pass on that fetish, sorry sweetie! Im sure you can find a nice lil bulimic (spelling?) girl though. If I meet one, Ill make sure to send her your way.

Whatawookie, it fits in there good, still plenty of room left too. There are a few companies making mount kits for that swap now. The biggest expense is the engine and tranny really. Ive seen some pics of ones that are even twin turbo. If youre into drifting though Ive noticed that the front end is a lil too heavy, a lot of guys have problems with all the added weight up front and complain about it. But its effin great for power.

Nope, not into drifting, but I do like to keep a good balance. I'd probably stick with a VG30ET for that reason. It has primitive electronics, but the heads have pretty good flow. It's only about 60lbs heavier than the KA24.

If you get one with minimal casting marks they might be ok... but it is a SOHC 2 valves per cylinder head... Good thing though boost fixes the flow problems. Reality though is it costs a good bit to get the heads to really flow well. Trust me, I know.

Whatawookie
07-21-2007, 08:53 AM
I just mean they flow well enough for my intentions. In the grand scheme of things, no, they aren't great flowing heads. They can manage 350-400hp fine, and that's plenty of power for the S13 chassis. I still want it to be streetable.

Don't forget the lateral oil starvation problem at speed. I found this out the hard way with a friend in a pretty decent (black/black) 1987 300ZX turbo of his. Trashed the head(s) due to oil starvation from "getting sidewayz".

I'd rather have an inline motor... for *drifting*...

Whatawookie
07-23-2007, 04:23 PM
IIRC, the stock oilpan won't fit in the 240SX. It could use a new oilpan with improved baffling. I've been working on a dry sump setup for another motor, and it's not as difficult as I thought.

I still love the RB2xET for it, but they keep getting more expensive and sit so far forward.
