They are 15X8 et15, so it should look pretty stout. I dont know what tires I need yet but I am thinking 205/55/15. Let me know what you think.

It looks pretty rough right now but I am in the process of fixing it up. I bought a black leather sport interior and put it in. I am respraying it the original silver and then the wheels are going on it. Hopefully it will look pretty nice when its done.

Go with a 205/50-15. You will have a lot more choices on good tires for less money and the shorter sidewall will perform better. 205/55-15 is a bastard size and nearly impossible to find cheap. That was the stock size on my wife's Prelude Si and we always had to pay more than we should have for tires.

The new wheels look great BTW!

You wouldnt happen to have some pics of a wheel with 205 on it would you?

I just found a set of 225/50/15 brand new for 244 shipped. I think I should take the safe route and get the 225's.

225's will be fine on a 8" wheel and look good. Heck, I run 225's on 6" wheels.

Good...they will be here in a couple days. When I get the tires put on the wheels I will post some more pics.

318, but it is still pretty fun.

Do you have any pics of your M3?

That being said, arent parts expensive? I wanted to get one for a DD but everyone said it wasn't worth it.

Ooh, E30's! Awesome cars, in my opinion. ;)

onebad7up, I can't wait to see those wheels on your 318. I'll be looking out for some pics. Also, where did you get the sport interior?

01badz28, nice M3! Any plans for it?

I bought the sport interior off of a guy on a forum. He was in AL so I drove down and got everything (seats, door panels, and carpet).

How do you like the 325is?

No plans for the M3 except restoration. Parts for regular e30s aren't bad at all, M cars on the other hand...

Man, dangit.. I'm looking at the same wheel for my car, except in Gunmetal. That's the sportmax 501 right? Really like those wheels alot.. I wanna do 15x8's up front and 15x7's in the rear.

That's what I heard too. But compared to Corvette parts, they're not.

Hmm... I had to work a lot on my interior when I got it, it was pretty ragged. Well, pretty much the whole car was ragged when I got it, lol.

Love the torque on the straight six in the 325is, and it's real smooth. But I have to agree with you, the 318 is still very fun to drive. BTW, what do those new wheels weigh?

You're not kidding in the M car parts, especially that engine you have in your M3... Just browsing on S14.net looking at random $ figures make me go .

I do not know how much they weigh but I will weigh it when I get back on Friday. They feel pretty light.

One of these days I am going to buy a nice 325is, but in the meantime the 318 will have to do.

Thats the biggest reason against tracking it. Last time I checked, a replacement S14 goes for at least $10K, more if you want the 2.5L version. S50 / S52 swaps are popular, but the 4 banger is half the fun. :D

I don't know yet. I want a good ride but just a lower stance. I am taking suggestions if you know of any good sets.

Well, my car has Intrax springs, which ride and handle surprisingly well with my Koni yellows, but with a 2.25" drop I have to say they're probably a tad low for street driving for most people. I know I'm always mindful of the road surface, especially considering how low the oil pan hangs on E30's.

I do like the stance, though:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f142/rclugos/IMG_0975cropped.jpg

Ireland Engineering Stage 3 springs are very popular handling-wise, but it's got a pretty good drop as well. Eibach Pro-kit would be a good option if you don't want to sit too low (I think they're 1.6" drop), and I've also heard good things about the H&R's and Racing Dynamics.

Good luck!

:stare2:

Those pics are hawt!!!

I can't go that low with this ride though. The 1.6" drop sounds good. I think just changing rear shocks should drop the rear down some because it is very high in the air. They must have put on the wrong shocks or something.

Stock M3 springs? I had a friend of mine that had them on his 325IS, looked pretty good.

Yeah, I don't think you can go wrong with the Eibach Pro-kit, although I forgot about the stock E30 M3 springs. Like 01badz28 pointed out, they do look pretty good; however, I don't know exactly how much drop it gives. Should be pretty easy to look up, though. They should also be less $$$.

I kinda wondered the same thing but if they tuck under the fender like the last pic all will be OK. Although the the red e30 looks like he might of streched 205 on his to help with that.

onebad7up
03-26-2007, 05:15 PM
Yea. I was going to get the 205 but people said to go with the 225's. I guess it is too late to do anything about it now.

Actually, I live on the south side of town, off of South Church going towards Christiana. Holler at me next time you spot me, I'd be glad to meet other Tennesspeeders...

I see other E30's around town, always wondered if they're members (or lurkers) here. There's a real clean red E30 (looks like an '87) rolling around on Ronal LS wheels, and another nice red one, I think it's a 318is, with crystal tails. There are others, but those two spring to mind. Anyone from here?

I can't quite tell with your car's pics, but you may be able to get away with it if you roll your fenders - especially if you're going to spray it anyway. My front tires used to rub, but now that my fenders are rolled they've been doing a lot better. If they do make contact the tire just slides against the fender; no more of that horrid "chatter."

On the bright side, you have a 225 contact patch...

Im a huge fan of the E30 BMW also. The M3 is simply beautiful. If the opportunity ever presents itself to own one, I will jump on it.

I also love the E46 M3. A white one with Gold Volk LE37T's would look amazing.

edit: Like this only white car/gold rims

I see that they are listed on craigslist. :squint:

I'd seriously think about buying them from you, but my wife would seriously kick me out of the house if I spend any more money on the car right now that isn't necessary.

edit: BTW, those wheels will also fit VWs pretty durned well, and with being 4x100, Hondas, Nissans, Saturns...

Well, I plan to turbo the M30 eventually, and plus I can get rid of the AFM and pick up a little more power and throttle response. I can tune it myself to it's max potential as well. Once I get it all figured out so it will actually start. lol
