May 26th Car Show-Buford Pusser Festival

The 19th annual Buford Pusser Memorial Festival will be held this week from May 23rd thru the 26th in Adamsville, TN. (West TN for those who don't know). Every year, this event hosts a pretty good car show.

Car show registration is from 8am-12pm at the Adamsville City Park. Awards will be given in most of the usual categories. In addition to the show, the festival will feature a brief parade through town and lots of family stuff (rides, petting zoo, etc.) throughout the day if you want to bring the whole family.

My family will be there. I think Model A...not sure though.

Saw a few model A's there, but never had an opportunity to meet any of the owners.

Show had a great turnout, about 110+ cars last I heard and all of them were really nice rides. There were a few "over-the-top" and purely show cars there, but mostly just clean, driven rides.

The Lightning placed 2nd in its class (modified late-model truck, 6 entrees) and Leslie's '65 got second in its class. (1964-1973 Mustang, modified 9 entrees). Not too bad for a tow truck and a car that was never intended to be a "show" car.:D My buddies Syclone won 1st place in its class. It was the first time he has ever put the vehicle in a show. Another friend of mine from high-school won his class and the best muscle-car award with his '69 Chevelle SS.

Used the Lighting to pull the '65 on the trailer to the event and back. (356 total miles) and got around 13mpg doing it.

Good job on the places, there are always lots of Mustangs in that class down there. Dad got 2nd place in the Model A. Flat black with red interior. Dealer tags. "White Bro's Jalopy Repair"

Brodie, I was wrong, they took the red 79 Malibu SS. Dad said he remembered your cars, and thinks he left a Cool Car Cruise In flyer in Leslie's car. He did get 2nd place though.
