I have video from an 8mm camcorder that I would like to put on a disk. I don't know what companies do this at a reasonable cost or what i'm looking at if I do this myself. What's the cheepest way of doing this?
Thanks
Something like this would let you do it yourself. Do you still have the camcorder or just the tapes?

I do have the camcorder still. That's probably what i need. Would I need any hardware for it or just plug camcorder directly into the computer via cable?

The device i posted plugs into your computer, and your camcorder/vcr/etc plugs into it.

if your camera has a firewire connection then just use it. most cameras bought in the last 5 years or so will have firewire or usb. if its not usb 2.0 it wont work. but firewire will work. what make and model of camera? you may not have to buy anything, or at worst a firewire card, but i have one you are welcome to have if it will work
the hardware connection is easy, its the software thats the hard part. Waxys suggestion solves both
