Landscape HDR will never get old to me. Automotive HDR got played out almost as soon as it got started. Its difficult to do right and you dont often see it executed correctly but when it is its nice... very nice.

Is Photomatix a better program than Photoshop?

I think Photomatix is just another tool to get the job done, not better just different. Anyways, I'm not too familiar with Photoshop I mostly use Fireworks.:-p

Photomatix Pro works better on HDRs than CS2/3 does IMO. I still use photoshop in conjunction with Photomatix to get the desired final result, but Photomatix is definitely better at the HDR generation.
