Do you think wireless access will eventually become better, more convenient, and cheaper going through your wireless company than subscribing to Comcast monthly?

My primary computer at home is a laptop, my wife has a laptop, I use a laptop at work....

They're currently giving away the network cards when you sign up for a 2-yr unlimited plan. The unlimited data plan is $60, the 40MB plan is $40/mo.

Almost anywhere work takes you, stay connected to the Sprint Power VisionSM network with the Sprint Mobile Broadband Connection Card by Pantech WirelessTM (PX-500). The PX-500 also features a flip-up antenna for maximizing performance and is backward compatible to operate on all versions of the Sprint Vision and Power Vision networks.

Sprint is a leader in coverage and performance with our Mobile Broadband Network. Plus, be among the first to get the next generation of high-speed wireless data and access 600-1400 kbps download speeds with a Sprint EV-DO Rev A card, when and where Rev A service is available. Rev A cards are fully backward-compatible, interoperable with Rev 0 networks.

We looked at this option at home... unfortunately we're in a semi-dead zone.

Buy this, and distribute the EVDO through the home. :)

You are getting basic DSL like speed for about $35 more than what you would pay for a DSL plan at that speed. If you travel a lot and need to use your laptop without having to worry about finding a hot spot then that's the way to go. Otherwise stick with the home service.

http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr1-router I knew there had to be something out there to disburse the wireless. thanks for the link

I agree Alex... at the moment regular broadband coming into the home is cheaper and faster... maybe more reliable. However, I do think the cost will go down after they get a larger market, and would think that competing with comcast and local broadband suppliers has to be a long-term goal with companies like AT&T ,Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile

For people who travel all the time for work, I think it's excellent. For someone like us who work 8-5 then go home, it's not really convenient or financially beneficial. Sprint boasts that speeds are supposed to be 600-1400 kbps by November

I have the Verizon version and love it, BUT I do travel all the time and it's worth it.
