Off-Topic Remarks In Trading Post Threads
This has become a serious problem on Tennesspeed and the moderating staff is going to start cracking down on it hard. From this point forward, we are taking a zero tolerance stance. If you make an off-topic remark in a Trading Post thread you may, at the moderator's discretion, lose your access to make posts in this particular forum. You may lose permission forever or it may be temporary, again at our discretion.
The problem is this:
A lot of people will add a subscription to their threads or thread of interest so that the forum will e-mail them whenever a reply has been made. This allows them to respond quickly to buyer / seller replies.
Whenever someone comes along and bumps a thread with a useless off-topic remark, the forum still sends an email out to the subscriber and they end up coming back here only to find that some jackhole was being stupid and couldn't keep his or her idle chatter to a more appropriate forum on Tennesspeed. This in turn pisses them off (rightfully so) and then we end up hearing about it as a complaint.
If you have nothing of value to say, keep your keyboard quiet!!!
This means...
No stupid one-smiley replies like :true:
No replies like "This is a good deal, free bump!"
No replies asking "Nice car, will you part out the mods you did?"
No replies saying "Hey man... haven't heard from you in a while!"
Etc.Most of those need no explanation, but I will say that if the seller wanted to part out his car and sell all of the modifications he had made to it, then he probably would have stated that in the damn thread to begin with. Don't jack the thread by asking him. Instead, maybe send a PM and make your offer. It would probably help your case if you offered to trade your original parts for his modified parts, plus a reasonable asking price for the mods.
Second, the Trading Post isn't MySpace. It's not where you catch up with old friends. If you haven't seen Billy Joe Jim Bob for the past decade, send him a PM or make a new thread about it in the Lounge forum.
That's all. Thanks for your cooperation. :naughty:
