Last night my main PC crashed on my. Just locked up while burning a DVD. I restarted to no avail. I ended up having to do a recovery on it. This sucks. I lost everything.

To all: Make back ups!!!! Man... I'd give a large sum of cash right now to have all my stuff back the way it was..... :(

I've had to recover two HP/Compaq PCs that the user decided they didn't like Vista but Vista killed the MBR. HP has a nifty tool in the recovery partition called MBR(something).exe that'll rebuild the boot record so you can boot into the recovery and put it back to normal.

Your buddy probably got a porn virus on it that corrupted ****. The only plausible solution now is to punch him in the balls and to add insult to injury bust in the room while he's whacking and punch him while he's good and exposed.

thats why you boot with a knoppix cd or the such, and get all your data off before resorting to a crappy recovery.
