Just working from home today and realized I've got 4 pcs running on my desk...
My desktop, my Mac, the work laptop and my customers laptop (only way I can get onto their network). Probably cooking my walnuts - but I'm pretty much finished using them anyway...:stare2::lol:

I used to have 3 desktops of my own on my desks, nevermind the work laptop. Now I've got my work laptop, two of my wifes work laptops, our personal laptop, plus two desktops in the house. Not to mention enough parts to build a third desktop.
i wish i could afford to have 4 computers :(

Im not quite as bad, but I generally have three computers on my desk at a time. Work laptop, personal laptop, and a media server. It may be 4 soon if my roommate upgrades to a newer iBook and I pick up his old one.

If your house doesn't have a storage server, media server, and some sort of redundancy built in to a failover box you're not a nerd. :D :nerd:

The responses tell me what's happening :)
I didn't count the wife's desktop and work laptop... she's not here today...
We have considered making one of the (many) old PCs sitting around unused a server and will probably put in a file and print server in the not too distant future - we have been talking about a color laser instead of the two monochromes we have now. Since we're talking geek - tell me what I need to know about color lasers...
Thanks guys!

If it ain't HP, you'll learn to hate it very quickly. If it is HP, it'll take longer to learn to hate. It's a printer - sooner or later you are going to despise the thing.
BTW - anybody who has a story about have a hard drive delivered to their residence and it took two grown men and a teenage boy to get it off the truck and up the stairs - well, that makes them a geek of long standing. (I bet you thought I'd forgotten about that, didn't you?) :)

That's 48 ports of L3 & POE (Cisco 3560's) ;)
And it's more about the ability to have two switches/routers than port density. :D

someone studying for their ccna perhaps?
anyone want a 2 post rack? mine is a 7 foot one, and the c channels are a lot deeper for better cable management. Ive debated in cutting it in half but haven't yet. If i can sell it cheap i will....need money more than a rack.

I passed the CCNA 10 years ago. I use it to lab up configurations for customers. I also am studying for the CCIE Security, my first lab date is in Oct.
Got to get studying! :stare2:
