iPod touch comes in 8gb ($299) and 16gb ($399).

Has built in Wi-Fi, so you can download songs directly from iTunes at your local Starbucks or Krystal. Comes with Safari browser, and will play YouTube videos. Identical to the iPhone in looks, except without the earpiece.

I think it's exciting to see technology is going somewhere. Apple announced a new partnership with Starbucks... soon you'll be in a Starbucks, hear a song playing, and your iPod can tell you what song it is (and the last 10 songs played) and you can download it with the touch of a button.

Looks perty slick, but the krystal and starbux dl feature is gay. Why would I wanna rock out to the same soundtrack as Krystal?

krystal and starbucks was an example. You could do it from home, work, the airport... wherever there is wireless. Starbucks just has the ability to tell you what song is playing

iPod nano - 6.5mm thick (1.74 oz)
iPod touch - 8mm thick (4.2 oz)
80gb "classic" - 10.5mm (4.9 oz)
160gb "classic" - 13.5mm (5.7 oz)

kinda bummed at the limited space on the Touch. I guess 16gb is pushing the limit on flash technology? I saw 8gb flash drive @ BB today for $120... it's getting cheap

flash cost goes up exponentially as the size increases

i'd wait about 3 months to buy any of apple's new products, they tend to sneak in upgrades within that time

case in point = iphone: released june 29 with 4gig @ $499 and 8gig @ $599... now it's only the 8gig @ $399, 4gig is discontinued

I never buy another apple product. I bought two brand new ipod shuffles, and they would not work on three different computers. I exchanged them for the zen micro and they worked flawless out of the box..

Apple = teh suckage

meh wife - 30gb video
meh - 20gb photo
meh sister-in-law - shuffle
meh madre - nano

no problemos

case in point = iphone: released june 30, 4gig @ $499, 5gig @ $599... now it's only the 8gig @ $399, 4gig is discontinuedthe 8gb is $599 right now (unless AT&T website isn't current). I don't remember a 5gb iphone ???

price drops on iPhone may be related to them being so overpriced to begin with. iPod prices aren't too bad IMO.

I want one when its old enough to be refurbished.

And to address the size thing, I'm kind of tired of thinking of my iPod as my archive anyway. I'll just sync as I go, and there'll be less menus to scroll through.
