Thinking about ditching the console in my 90 Gt. Im not worried about covering the Shifter and emergency brake. I have a cover for the brake from my 86 non console car. I also have a friend that has a shifter cover from an 84 non console car.. I am not going to run a radio, I just wondered what anyone has done around the heat and air controls to clean it up when they take the console out..

Anyone have pics I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Brad

I think someone on Corral did that a while back. Looked real good. Might want to search over there and look.

My friend Trent makes guage plates: http://www.gaugeplates.com/ford_fox.php

Check with him to see about making a blank plate for you.

Im getting rid of the ENTIRE console. Even the part that rises up towards the a/c panel. I have seen a few posts on corral but it looks like they just left the console out.. looks unfinished..

Speaking of unfinished.. every Mustang with a missing console looks unfinished just because well, there is no more console. Just a carpet covered driveline hump.

Is it an all out race car or what?

No its a street toy / weekend racer. I'm eliminating the radio because someone has HACKED the stereo in this car previous to me owning it. When I'm driving this car I had rather listen to the exhaust anyways. Someone has suggested using a glove box door to follow the curve of the dash, cutting and contouring a hole for the a/c and heat controls. So I may look at that.. or doing something like the photo I've attached and just having a place to mounts guages if needed where the radio sits as well as where the switches are in this photo.
