After a long haul to Dallas and back I got the 2000 Camaro that we will be turning into a race car. I snapped some pictures to show yall the beginning of the project. I already put the 18s on my trans am and the car has prostars with big fat drag radials now and skinnies up front. They are actually the correct offset(imagine that).
List of thing to do right away-
-start taking parts off I dont need, like the Borla Exhaust(going on TA)
-Put the Hooker headers on
-Install my HP tuners tune
-Take off all nitrous stuff
-See what it runs like it is(for fun). Right now it has a 224/224 563/563 114lsa cam, nitrous tuned(changed b4 track), SLP Lid, MAF, 3600 converter and beefed up tranny, 3.73'd 10 bolt, LCA's

then,
-get rid of flames and fix front bumper
-Install Moser 12 bolt
-Install Cage
-Take off all A/C, EGR, AIR, Back Seat, etc
-Pull Apart engine for the good stuff
-etc etc.

Solid start!!!

I'd skip the 12 bolt and go with a 9" though. You'll break the 12 bolt with the times you're wanting.

Its going to be Stock Eliminator "legal." so no 9in. I wish the rules would allow it, so 12 bolt only. Lets play "see how long the currie 12 bolt will last!"

I've never owned a currie, but being in a GM family, ive seen 12 bolts last just as long as a 9inch. I do like a 9in for one thing, an thats ease of working in them. I'd much rather pull a whole chunk out than F with a traditional style craptasic setup

How bout this for a kicker- I was looking at it today and noticed the center bolt style valve covers...then looked on the title, and there it was. This car is a 2000 model. Dad and I totally overlooked it thinking it was a 98, I guess from looking at so many cars. Now I realize we REALLY stole this thing.

Sweet!!! Even better! Still has the suck intake though....

on the 12 bolt, put 9" ends on it. That'll help it suck less.

Yea I know WTF! I could have stole the LS6 and put it on the trans am.

But on the upside, I have a FAST intake ready to go.
On the downside, I HATE the center bolt valve covers that come on it, because you have to take off the coil packs/bracket to get to the valve cover bolts..

you drive past 45 times a day...just stop by one day. Just curious what you ever did with that 98 cobra front bumper?

Ordered some parts tonight:

-HP Tuners Software
-Hooker Longtubes
-3inch Universal X Kit
-2 Dynomax 3inch Bullets
-2 3 inch turndowns
-Jegs Adjustable Panhard Bar

Wondering what torque arm to buy, mainly because my chassis guy will be making SFC's that will tie in with the cage, and I will have him make a crossmember to mount the front of the torque arm instead of buying either the tanny/TA mount piece. I will definately buy the shorter arm

Decided not to go with the Currie 12 bolt, still looking for a 12 bolt with 4.56s

---found out today that the car went 7.50 at clarksville before nitrous tune, 3.73s, 3600 converter, and rebuilt tranny was installed

I did those in the trans am...haha
2nd gear..it will fry em. I just got done puttin comp 918 valvesprings, hardened pushrods, valve seal, etc in. I'll do another one for your veiwing pleasure...EVERY valvespring was down in it, I guess da factory didnt intend on me driving it

as for the drag car, I did about 354656787899 launches up the driveway..no road driving..no front bumper with **** hanging off it..
A bunch of parts came in for it-
PHB
SFC's
DS Loop
hooker longtubes
3in x kit and 2 3in bullets & dumps.

Its goin in for a cage next week, then i'm putting on the AFR heads that are ported and epoxied to Hell and back....and they got a GM part number :naughty:stamped on them; along with FAST 90 intake and a big-by-huge cam
