Digital Camera (mom wants advice)

So my mom is in the market for a digital camera. She's pretty much narrowed it down to 2 choices. This camera will be mostly used while she is at Figure Skating competitions. Which one should she buy?

Kodak Easy Share Z712
Cannon AS570

She likes both of them, but doesn't know which one she'll get the best quality pictures from. I don't really know jack about cameras, so all the help would be great.

Havent even looked at the two cameras specs, but there is no way I would personally own a Kodak over a Cannon.

i personally like the canon's better than kodaks. ive owned my canon for like 3 years now and its pretty darn good. formfactor of that kodak is nice, but it is far from even pocketbookable. the canon she can carry almost everywhere. both will take pretty darn good pictures.

I have a Canon point and shoot.. Love it.

Kodaks point and shoots suck. I've had a couple before I learned...

There are other options out there but you can't go wrong with Canon.

Canon, hands down .... Kodak doesnt even come close

only thing that can keep up with a Canon is a Nikon, and not even in the compact digitals ... just the DSLRs

ive owned and used probably every Compact Digital there is, and the only one's i buy and will ever buy for myself are Canon's
