The news said microsoft est first day sales at $150million:eek:. They say this will open bigger than any movie, game or what ever. H2 did 125m so seems possible. I'll wait until the thanksgiving day sales for both the 360 and the game. Maybe by then Sams will have a H3 bundlepack. After you geekophiles get it pm me with how it ends. I gotta know if he saves the universe!!!!!!!!!

i wasn't that impressed with halo 2, but i did like the first one. it was the first real popular game with twin stick controls and it revolutionized 'team' play. we used to get hammered in college and set up 8 on 8 tournaments. those were a blast.

got mine last night
had mine preordered at gamestop in cool springs

they said one guy was there at 11am lol...

i went after the titans game... got there about 1130pm, waited in line for about 30-45 minutes and that was it...

played it all night last night and today

I dont see it hitting the PC for at least a year, judging on how long it took Halo and Halo 2 to do so. That's not to say they won't be able to play together.

Microsoft has developed an XDK that is supposed to allow simultaneous game development for both 360 and Windows platforms, but I don't know if anyone has used it.

I saw some game in Target (don't remember what it was) that said it was multi-platform for 360 and PC via Live so someone has done it. I just don't remember what game it was. I'm thinking that will probably happen with Halo3. You're probably right that they will delay the release for a year to make sure XB360 sales go up though.

I walked into BB today and was out in 3 minutes. They had a crap load of copies. I was thinking I should've pre-ordered, but luckily there was no need. Now if my son would settle down, maybe I could play it. :mad:

Ahh man, co-op sounds like a good reason to buy it. Used to play co-op on Unreal back in the day but it was buggy as hell.

I play counter-strike with guys all the time that are playing on 360 and I'm on PC.

i played a little on legendary last night. i was impressed. the visuals are bad ass. they gave us both the weapons from the first and the second. no zoom on the pistol though. the bubble shield is a nice touch. the grunts are a little smarter in this one. one actually got pissed, activated two plasma grenades and ran at me until they exploded, damn suicide bombers...

I had heard something about the speed of sound coming into play, being a bit more realistic; with the .50 being fired a long ways off, the bullet hits you before you hear the shot . . . THAT will be fun on Live and S/L. :D

they really did a good job on this one. totally makes up for the dud that h2 was. i haven't even gotten that far into the game and i'm impressed. the brutes are bad ass! i bet the game is phenomenal on a 1080p plasma - but i wouldn't know - 720p lcd FTL :lol:

I'm playing on a 13 year old 27" tube TV, so kiss it. ;) I played Halo 2 all of 5 minutes in single player mode. I noticed the suicide grunts, but figured I had stuck one of them with a grenade and he was just running at me. They also say funny things too. Seth heard one say "Run Forest, run" last night. I'm ready for some multiplayer Slayer very soon. :)

Counterstrike is not even made for the 360. (http://www.petitiononline.com/cs4360/petition.html) :confused: There was a copy for the original Xbox, but it was a completely different game than the PC version.

I played through the first 2 levels last night. Graphics are amazing (on a 1080P 56" HDILA) and sound is great.
Haven't gotten on live to player slayer yet, but last night at about 10PM there were only 12k users in multiplayer.
The cortana halucinations are a nice touch....can't wait to see what develops in the story line with this.

I am SO glad I am not into the online gaming scene. I have too little time already to spend my non-work hours sitting around a console for hours at a time.

I had employees dragging around today that played Halo3 until the early morning and their productivity sucks.
