Keystone Automotive Presents
9th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA World Finals
October 4-7, 2007
Beech Bend Raceway Park
Bowling Green, Kentucky
In typical NMRA fashion, we will end the season at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Always one of the largest events of the year, this event will determine the 2007 NMRA Champions and, more importantly, bragging rights! As usual, this NMRA Finals features the Vortech Outlaw 10.5 Shootout, as well as an awesome exhibition show. Nitto Tire, out of Cypress, CA has made this event possible and will be on the grounds throughout the weekend to answer any questions you might have about their magnificent products.
Due to the size of this event, the gate will open to all racers, vendors and crew on Thursday around noon. If you can get out there then, it is highly recommended. Registration and Tech will be open all day, so you can get your car ready before the rush on Friday morning. And speaking of that, gates will open on Friday at 9:00 am, followed by a test n’ tune and first round of qualifying. We’ll finish up Qualifying on Saturday and then go into Eliminations on Sunday around 10:00 am, followed by the tire smokin’ Burnout Contest in the afternoon!
After their season premiere in Reynolds and another showing in Milan, the Vortech Outlaw 10.5 guys are back in full force to decide the 2007 Champ.
On top of being one of the largest NMRA drag races of the season, this event also features the NMRA’s largest all-Ford Car Show and Swap Meet. Hosted by the Stampede Mustang Club in Clarksville, TN, this show attracts all models and generations of your favorite Ford muscle cars. Stampede USA started when two die-hard Drag Racers from Colorado decided that there had to be a change in the modern day 'over-moderated' Mustang Community. “We're fully dedicated to bringing the 'Mustang Experience' to every corner of this great Nation to help keep this great American past-time alive!”
Book your rooms now, this event is one of Bowling Green’s biggest and most favorable events! The Official Host Hotel for the weekend is the Ramada Inn just a few miles from Beech Bend Park. Hotel Manager and drag racing fan, David Wahl, welcomes all participants and fans to join the NMRA Staff for the weekend!
As the last race of the 2007 season, this is one event you don’t want to miss!

No SSO in the 200s, they were damn close on Friday though, 199.5x and I believe a 199.7x. Something that was killing me was the Mystic '04 and a few of his buddies laying down 11s @140+. I guess they were trying to compete in the Supra arena.
Does anyone know what happened to the Hellion car? Turbo or what?

Do you mean the green fox body hellion car? If so, friday during testing they hurt the turbo. They put a brand new one out of the box on and went to 1st round qualifying. During that round they hurt the motor and the new turbo. So they pulled the motor out and went through it. Thats the last time I seen it and didnt get to watch much racing sunday so I dont know what happend after that.

Yeah that was the one I was referring to. Just a nice big puff of smoke at the end on both runs. I seen they had the nose off the car while walking through the pits and wondered if they just popped a seal.
Oh yeah, "where the big dogs run" "bark bark bark bark" Geeze was that annoying.

The car that impressed me the most was Matusek's Pro 5.0 car. The numbers weren't necessarily so impressing to me, overall, but the fact that he ran 6.5 @ 215mph on 323 cubic inches is wild.

Yeah it was cool, I think he could have went faster with it though. Just couldn't plant all the power. To bad he was knocked out by Saitz, I would have liked to see what it would have done with that cooler air last night.

Lynch was all over the track. He did get a decent pass in Sun but he was still slipping and sliding at the big end. My memory is a bit foggy but I think that pass was at 195, can't remember the time though.

To be honest, I like going to NMCA better. But, I grew up a Chevy guy. If I were a Mustang guy, I could see how this were a phenomenal event. The racing was good, even though it took me a while to figure out what class was what in relationship to NMCA, but the car show, swap meet, and stuff was a little boring for me. Still, it was a great day. I'm fired up for NMCA at Memphis, next weekend.

NMCA doesn't usually have as big of a car show or swap meet, but the racing is just as good. Last year, Vinny Budano went 226mph in Pro Street, if I remember correctly. The variety of racecars is great, too.

According to the NMRA officials, this was the biggest attendance every for NMRA @ Bowling Green.. The car show alone had over 350 participants for Sat & Sun.. I know that the KY State Police made 3 different trips to the gates on Saturday trying to get people in, due to traffic hazzards outside of the facility. At one point Sat both lanes were going at 2 different gates, and people still were waiting up to an hour before getting thru the gates..

My dog hated that fool barking all day! I thought it was a good event. I had two friend in DR one blew a head gasket and the best he could run was a 8.7 @ 160 and the other in first round went 8.1 @ 176 then I left. still don't know who won what.
