I'm getting a Nikon D40x 10.2 MP SLR and I want to learn more than how to just point-and-shoot. I want to be able to tweak settings and buy appropriate lenses. Is there any advice you guys could throw at me, or websites I could utilize?
I've enjoyed playing with my dad's Canon EOS 40D but want to get better pictures and more educated about what I'm doing.
Bob-E? Hibbs? Help?

Sell your Nikon and buy a Canon? JK
I've learned everything from www.photography-on-the.net/forum/
Read all the stickies.
Just don't tell them you have a Nikon ;)

I wanted a Canon, but since it's being given to me as a Christmas present, and already ordered, not much I could do about it.
Are lenses usually model specific for cameras, or are most Nikon's interchangeable with other Nikon bases and one Canon interchangeable with another Canon?
thanks for the site

Lenses are camera specific unless you have an adapter which sometimes loses autofocus, so it's not recommended.
