If you have a camera with adjustable aperture, stop it down as far as you can (like f22). You'll probably need a tripod since the ap is so small, but you get a nice star effect on the lights.

I need a better tripod for sure. What kind are you using? I've been eyeing one of the Bögen pods and ball head that B&H is selling as a kit. Just can't decide if I want a ball head or a traditional 3-way head.

I inherited a manfrotto pod and I replaced the head with a Bogen ball which I like. Hibbs uses the pistol grip ball-head Bogen which I don't like but he loves it. Ball head either way. Makes life a little easier. Mine has that little level in it which a hardly ever use. It also has the degrees marked on it for panos which is pretty nice.
