I've been wanting a Gary Fong Light Sphere for my 580EX for a while now but couldn't bring myself to pay $50 for a piece of plastic. It's the tupperware looking thing on top of the flash units in the photo above.
Then I discovered a knock-off version (http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/www.flash-diffuser.com) of it in Hong Kong for $6.00 + $4.00 postage on eBay.
WINNAR!
It arrived while I was out of the office for vacation, so it was waiting for me when I got back today. I can't wait to try it out. :x:

Awesome, mang! This photography thing rubs off doesn't it? :)
FWIW, I added another camera to my bag. An old Canon AE-1 Program with Canon FD 50mm F/1.8 and Canon FD 28mm F2.8. :D
My Mom hardly used it and after me already giving her two new digi-cams, she just handed it over to me free. Now to learn film...

Yeah, I really enjoy this stuff. I've got a great-aunt who is a pro photog up in Michigan so she feeds me some info every now and again. If I could take a year off with pay and follow her around just to learn, I'd be in heaven.

Does she shoot film or digital? Canon or Nikon? :hyper:
To be honest, I'm in to the photog thing more than cars and dirt bikes right now.

She shoots all of the above. I'll send you a link to her site. She travels overseas a lot to teach classes. *shrug*

Congrats on the Gary Fong rip-off! Wish they had those available when I got mine 2 years ago, but it was good money spent.

That looks pretty interesting. Also look into bounce cards. I've had my eyes on a flash and putting a bounce card together for better lighting on portrait work. Be sure to post up some examples once you have a chance to shoot with it.

I almost felt bad about it being a rip-off. Almost.

Nicely done pictures! The groom (in that shot) needs to smile a little; he just signed the deed to a lifetime supply of sweater puppies.

Well done! It looks like that 40D is a great wedding cam, too! :)

Yeah, it's turning out to be a great camera and it's a LOT of camera, too!:hyper:
I think the next thing on my wish list will be the 70-200 lens.
