You're only as good as your weakest link and I've been using cheap filters and a cheap tripod ever since I've been shooting (Quantaray/Sunpak mall junk).
My cheap filters are being replaced by Kenko Pro 1 filters that are on the way so it was time to upgrade the next weak link and get rid of the little Quantaray Digi-PRO 1000. It wasn't exactly cutting it when being asked to hold my D80 sturdy and keep things sharp (only rated to support 3.3 lbs) so I picked up a Bogen/Manfrotto tripod off B&H (190XB legs, 484RC2 ballhead).
When I get my filters in I'll put all the pieces of the puzzle together and get some new shots (day and night). These pictures are just to show the sheer size difference between the little Quantaray I was using and the Manfrotto that I just picked up. Its a pretty substantial difference (and the Manfrotto has the leg angles, removeable center post, and low angle mount to get lower than the old tripod ever could dream of despite being three times beefier).

Comparison (Lucy didn't know what to think about the tripods, hate that damn cat but its the g/f's so I'm stuck with it):

And just a handheld "what the heck" shot of my little entertainment section (its not much but I like it, 44" Toshiba DLP, Onkyo surround, etc):

So its on fellas, who's first up for a shoot once these filters come in!? :D
