No really....
Just wanted to know how many people would be interested in a drag race day again that tnspeed did like last two years.
When I asked David he's not to sure...just wanted to know if we could rally support to get one going again this year..I have had fun at them thought it would be nice.

If this doesn't happen, we'll find a vacant stretch of road in Davidson Co. and post about it on the internets for weeks ahead of time, then meet up and race 700hp/torkz cars into telephone poles while Mike videocams it.
Cool?

Honestly I have thought about mixing things up a little and maybe doing this at an 1/8th mile track this time just to be different. Beech Bend is an awesome facility (normally) but we have consistently catered to the 1/4 mile crowd every time we've done this.

We've also considered renting the Superspeedway and putting on a road-course event/car show like the Music City Mustang Club did last fall. From what I understand, the cost isn't much more than it would be to rent out beech bend.
Jason, Moody and some others participated in the event, I believe, so let us know if you would want to do something like that this year versus the drag race thing.

Didn' think about that as an option that might be cool...but wouldn't it be more money to participate?
I know when MCMC does it we've paid 135 per car to run for the day.
MikeW
01-17-2008, 07:25 AM
NSS would be nice for sure. When SVTOA had their event there it was 11,500 for a two day event. AV8 last year was more than that so the entry fees will have to be in the $300 per range.

The superspeedway would be awesome, but I don't think our turnout would be as good as a drag race. Plus we wouldn't be able to really race at the speedway.

The oval at BB is too small for autoX and the walls would make it painful if you lost control. There will be plenty of events at the NSS w/ the TRSCCA if you need to satisfy your autoX fix.

I used to work at the track there when I first moved to BG and I can recall several times that there was some cone dodging in the infield (Vettes and Fbodys). They set up the course and did their own timing and judging... I am just saying. I know of a dozen or so people that would come from BG if there was auto x. I will gladly show up early to set up or help with timing or course judging or whatever.
