My Kenko Pro 1 UV and circular polarizer came in. I was home from work sick and had to venture out to get medicine so I brought my gear with and stopped real quick to grab a few shots.
Preface to pictures: I recently moved to the sticks, and the nearest town is a ****hole, which means decent locations are basically nonexistant. These were taken just after noon so the lighting was extremely harsh, and the car was dirty too. Being sick I wasn't going to deal with driving to find a better location, waiting for better light, or dealing with cleaning a car for pictures, so I made due with what I had. I'll quit with the excuses and get to the pictures...

3 - My future is so bright it's blinding (goofing around with the CP)

4 - Live and in color (more goofing around with the CP)

I also picked up a used Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens off of a NikonCafe member and decided to play with it a little also. I figured I'd see what it could do on my girlfriend's cat, Lucy. On the pictures of Lucy, those were shot indoors with lighting from the room, which was far from ideal. She wasn't too keen on sitting still for the pictures either, so they're not quite as sharp as they could be. Enough excuses...
5 - 50mm time, comparison shot of my 50mm/1.8 and my old school iPod (this 50 is TINY)

6 - Lucy @ 50mm

7 - Lucy, again with 50mm/1.8

Save the two shots of me goofing around where I had to do some work to clean them up post-processing was minimal on all shots, with the two of Lucy barely being touched at all (wanted to show the detail and see just how sharp the lens was).
My thoughts: I'm not really happy with the images (horrible lighting on all of them, bad locations, uncooperative subjects) but for what I was working with the pictures came out decent IMO. I personally can notice a good bit of difference between my old filters and the new ones. I'm seeing more sharpness and clarity. I'm also liking this little 50mm lens. It's a lot of fun to play around with. I can't wait until I'm feeling better, I have a clean car or a more willing subject, and a little time to play around with the new gear as well as the new tripod.
