I have the most fun shooting motorsports. My biggest problem is finding local or within 1-2 hrs driving, motorsports events of any kind to just go out and practice shooting at. Most of the stuff i find is in ATL and i only make it out there 1-2 times a year. I also make a perennial trip to VIR in southern VA for Rolex series, but 1-2 times a year just isnt enough.
So my question is, where is the best place to go to find any local events for all types of racing in the Nashville and surrounding areas. Motocross, auto-x, rally-x, oval, open wheel, anything.
I just want to get practicing as much and as often as possible. Also if any other guys here go to events to shoot and wouldnt mind a tag along once in a while that would be great.

I'm sure the NSS has a bunch of events throughout the year, right?

Yeah they do. Lots cost money which i dont necessarily mind once in a while. I know the auto-x is out there. Im also interested in finding local dirt track races and kart racing, offroad rally(i know about the yearly Linden, TN one), and anything that i can just check out on a weekend for some cheap practice. Trying to get a wide variety of practice.
Just not sure where to start looking for the not so standard stuff.

Is there still a big Tractor Pull in Chapel Hill TN? I know its no auto-x...but you asked for not so standard stuff. ;)

I try to post any track events I hear about here. How far are you looking to travel? Barber? Talladega? Road Atlanta?

Some things on the north side of town that might work for you are of course Union Hill, Highland Rim speedway(small paved circle track off exit 104), or even White House Hobbies (they have a R/C track and host races several times a week). Shooting gas powered remote control cars would be a challenge since they are pretty quick moving and are smaller than normal cars.

Clarksville has both a drag strip and a dirt circle track. The circle track is actually quite famous in the dirt world. They race every Sat. night, and occasionally have special races on Wed. and Sun. nights.

make sure you remind me about the Linden Rally, I always miss it and I really want to shoot it bad. Just hope I don't get run over by an AWD Celica
