So which looks better to you and what else needs to be done?

You'll have to excuse the scraggle-puss look. I haven't combed her in a couple days. :D

The background colors make my eyes hurt.

Either way, it makes me want to sneeze. But, I'll say BW.

bw looks better.
Would be cool to keep the cat in color and make the background bw.

I was thinking that. It would be cool to be all b/w except for her eyes.

Anyone know how to do that in PS CS2? :hyper:

Black and white looks good.
Long haired cats (not vaginas) look neat. Here's mine:

Easy way...
Select the entire black and white image, copy it, paste it over the entire color image, take your eraser tool and erase the eyes away from the black and white image to show the color underneath.

Either what Josh said, or use layers. They'll give you the same effect.

What Josh said, was layers. :)

I tried layers and the B&W was showing on top. I then tried to use the eraser tool on her eyes, but it did nothing. I aborted mission after that.
I never use any of the programs in my Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, so explaining this to me will be difficult.
This is why I never do any editing to my photos. It's too time consuming and complicated! :wall: I get them as good as I can in camera, and then come home, resize and post. :)
Did I mention that I hate post processing! :reef:

Anyone know how to do that in PS CS2? :hyper:I would say use the magic wand tool to cut the eyes and put them on a different layer but I saw this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-8hQh6hdnI
Looks like it works better than the magic wand.
edit: Wait, that appears to only work for images with a solid background. Stick with the magic wand.

I made two layers (duplicate of the image), magic wanded the eyes on the top layer, inverted the selection and cut away everything outside the eyes. Then selected the layer I wanted B&W and went to Images > Adjustments > Black & White and clicked OK.

Just a quick one here ...Loaded the image, made a duplicate layer, desaturated the layer, adjusted levels (probably a bit too much, but it was quick), used the lasso tool on the eyes, etc.

Ahh, looks good! I'll have to learn to do this myself asap! :)
