Anybody going? It's on the national points schedule, so it should have some big names. A buddy and I are going. For those not familiar with Linden,Tn it is about an hour from Nashville.
Spectating Tickets
If you want to head out to the stages and see the rally cars in action, you'll need to buy a ticket in Linden, TN!
No tickets are needed for the following:
Parc Expose in Linden
Linden Service Area
Cost: Ten Dollars
The price for one ticket (adult or child) is $10. This will get you a wristband that's good for all-day access at every spectator area on Saturday. Help us support those who generously donate their time make the rally happen!
Where to get maps and tickets:
Linden, TN is the Official Rally Tennessee Spectating Headquarters. Head to the ambulance station across from the high school to pick up your maps, directions, and tickets.

I went to the 2004 one - it was ****ing awesome. Totally worth it. I think that I'll go to this one as well. Anyone want to caravan down? We need to leave at about 5 or 6 am, though, in all honesty.

If it didn't conflict with the MCMC event I'd be all about this.

Yea, I don't plan on staying in a spectator area. Those always blow anywhere you go.

I love when people have no idea what they are talking about.
http://www.wkrn.com/global/story.asp?s=8302950
The memories are painful and still fresh in the minds of many after a drag car racing down a Selmer street spun out of control and into a crowd of spectators last year.
Six people died in the accident.
Memorial Day weekend, a similar race is scheduled to take place in Linden, Perry County.
After what happened in Selmer, some are wondering whether the race should still take place.
"It's like we didn't learn anything from those people dying," said Phil Thomas, who lives off one of the roads that will be shut down for the upcoming race. "The rally race has the same precautions as they had in Selmer, and that's zero. It's an accident waiting to happen."
(reefer: Fiction CAN be fun! But I find the reference section much more enlightening.)
Organizers say the rally race is the biggest event of the year in Perry County and draws race teams and spectators from all over the world and there are safety precautions in place.
Pat Vanden Bosche, with the Perry County Chamber of Commerce, said spectators aren't allowed to just stand anywhere and are safely behind barrels.
In addition to safety concerns, Thomas said the race shuts down county roads, meaning residents face long detours.
Vanden Bosche, however, said the event is worth it, bringing in much-needed revenue for the financially-strapped county.
"All the tickets sales go to rescue squads and fire departments all we have are volunteer fire departments out here," she said.
While last year less than 100 tickets were sold, organizers say the event brings in most of its revenue from people visiting for the event.
This is the fourth year for the rally race in Perry County.
Organizers told News 2 there has never been an accident.

I hope Phil Thomas is right and a rally car flies into his house.

TV News is lame, like the whiny kid at school who didn't get any of the jokes.

You're a rally guy and you have THAT for a map? Damned if I'm gonna drive 2 hours for a potential cluster F. I really wanted to go too. :reef:

If I go (I'm about 60% on going at this point) I want to trudge through the woods and find a better place to spectate.

Map looks a little scary, but not terrible; looks pretty easy to get to depending on what roads are shutdown for the rally itself. That's out my way too. Similar route from my house that we took to MS a little over a year ago. Just stay on 412 instead of getting on the Trace.

Too bad you wussed out and didn't go. :snore:
It was really hot but overall a fun day. Saw an Evo IV and Evo 6.5TME tearing it up! Also 2 Mitsubishi Lancers (like Germans).
