Camcorder Suggestions

I have a Sony camcorder that I bought about 3 or 4 years ago and I don't want to deal with the mini tapes. I'm going to try to sell it so I can get one that records to a hard drive. I'm willing to spend up to $2000 for one. Any suggestions? And why?
