A guy at work has got a 97 or a 98 Cobra and was asking me about upgrading the suspension for it. He doesnt plan on tracking the car or anything he just wants to get rid of the wheel gap and tighten it up alittle. Hes not lookin to go all crazy money wise. Think he can stay around $1000 for a good setup? Springs, shocks coilovers maybe.

He was talking about KYBs and all, But I told him to stay away from them. I havnt heard anything good about them.

I've had very good lunck with KYBs on 3 mustangs. If he wants to up his budget a little more go with Maximum Motorsport stuff. If he wants stay with a tight budget go with BBK/GRIPP stuff. The Fauxbra has 90% of BBKs stuff on it and never had a problem out of any of i.

Like I said I've been lucky with them. By no means I am I saying they are even close to being the best thing on the market. But they are a half a step above stock.

That might be what hes looking for. Hes had the car for a year and has only put 1k miles on it. So, he may need to stay with the cheaper set.

this what i did-er doing

if he wants just springs i would do H & R springs
but if i was him & wanted to just spend around a grand i would do

tokico D-spec`s & H & R springs or ( tein makes a real nice set too & cheaper $$$)

my d-spec`s were 510.00 shipped ( 87-93 proper shock for a dropped applacation ) & i think my friend chris paid 130 shipped for his tein springs

I bought a Maximum Motorsports Starter kit from Reef here on Tnspeed..

Here is a thread on the install.

H&R makes lower springs for the car but the ride height with the H&R Race are fine for daily use. Not scraping issues but sits lower than sotck.

He can get a great kit for 1k

have Delk install some eibach's, get the front end re-aligned (sometimes isn't needed) and call it a day.
