Can't say for sure what the specs will be exactly, but speculation across the internets say:
D10? FX camera 3.0LCD (Like a Canon 5D)
D3x? Pro FX 24mp (D3 with mo' MP's)
D90? (D300 in prosumer clothes)
Mo' lenses..... ???
Some of the speculation posted here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=27692918
and here: http://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=164417
But, Nikon is sloooooow about bringing new gear out so I'm sure at this point we have a long way to go before we'll see these hit the shelf.
Nikon > Canon. :D

Still want that D90 to come out, but a D10 wouldn't be bad either if it had more fps than a Canon 5D. Come on D90 though.

If something doesn't come out soon, I'm just going to get a D300. :reef:
That's my only complaint with Nikon is they're slow to bring out new gear and they're always behind Canon in that respect.

I just do not see them releasing anything soon that will be in the range of the D300 -D3. Not even something a step down, why do so when what they have on the market is doing quite well. You just said , if nothing comes out soon, you will get the D300. which a lot of people seem to be doing, while Nikon rolls the money in. They will bring something out later, but I don't see it happening until at least oct-nov...or even, after the turn of the year. Why wait? Just get the D300 and enjoy shooting this summer. Maybe by doing so, you will not care what comes out for the next few years.

Nikon has to release new models soon as to compete with Canon. As it stands, Canon is sucking up all the sales for big MP full frame pro bodies and the more affordable full frame Canon 5D which Nikon currently has no answer for.
Why wait? Because what I really want is a full frame (FX) body like the Canon 5D for the type of shooting I do. The $5,000.00 D3 FX is too much cost wise for me since I'm not a rich amateur or professional photographer. :)

Just curious as to what type of shooting do you do? What don't you like about the 5D, if you are waiting in hopes Nikon will release a fx camera? The cost of the 5D can be had for near the same as a D300.

I will be looking towards a D300, at my current rate, but it's not exactly what I want. I do need a Pro camera, because I know that I may outgrow the 300, but I'm just not sure. I may have to bite the bullet and get a pro body, and finish off my rig and get going again and stop wasting time on cars/jobs that I don't like that much...
There's nothing like shooting and then getting back to see how well everything came out. Cars are nice, but there's no bull**** in Photography (unless someone wants to be a complete ass, but then again, no one will really slam a decent picture unless they're doing it on a tech level, or aestetics in some art/photo class. This is one realm where the internet is just that area where you can post your work, and there's no need to fight, no numbers to back up, and no egos).
John, have you ever done any darkroom work? I'd recommend you take an honest step back and try it sometime, because it's been the basis for the way that I still shoot, because it trains the eye to find the blackest blacks and expose for them, as well as the whitest whites (this is talk from 1997-2001 from when I used to shoot film) - it works. Try it sometime - it's tedious, takes longer, and is annoying at times, but it'll make you appreciate the world of digital that much more.

I hear you Moody. Here lately I've been using a color swatch card to dial in my shadows, highlights, and midpoint and have seen just how far off my eye has been.

I shoot anything, but mostly landscape, cityscape, architecture, night photography, etc.
Why I don't like the 5D? Because it's a Canon and I shoot Nikon! ;)
I like the user interface, ergonomics, lens quality, etc., that Nikon offers over Canon. I've also invested in Nikon lenses and do not want to switch to Canon. :)
Did I already say it? Nikon > Canon! :-p :D
But just so you don't label me a brand loyalist, I do own a Canon AE1 Program, couple lenses, flash, etc. :blah:

I have no formal training in photography. I'm 100% self taught. I do have Canon film body I can play with. Maybe I'll take a few classes at MTSU when I get some more time. :)
