The excitement of daily driving a Jeep Cherokee has worn off :bored:
I came across this deal from a friend of mine in Iowa.. black 03 Marauder, mostly stock with a few tiny tweaks, nothing major. They are DOHC 4.6, 302hp, 17" wheels, Tokico suspension, looser t/c, 3.55 gear, 4r70w
20% tint
Drilled and slotted rotors f/r, ceramic pads f/r year or so old.
SCT tune
Silverstar in headlights
Real Autometer ProComp oil pressure gauge and voltmeter
Trans temp in 3rd spot in console
My Jeep will be for sale soon.
I'll post my own pics as soon as I get it, but in the meantime:

I've been wanting one of these ever since I totalled my 98 Grand marquis. The platform rides great, is very durable, and with the DOHC 4.6 the marauder is fun to drive.
Sweet! What are your plans?

Thanks.. I should have it around mid-July. He is driving down from Iowa to deliver it then will fly from here to Florida to get his new one.. a silver Marauder
No plans really.. it will be a daily driver. I might get slowebp to work his magic on it.

Them there Fer's are all over in FL. I've seen so many people get pulled over by them. The Z28's that they use stand out really bad.
A couple people out of Jax would come down to Gatorville and run like 12.4-12.6@114 I think they had a vortec on them.

8k... with 130k miles. I'm not worried about the mileage, the first 90k were all interstate. It's an Iowa car but there's no rust. If you want a low mileage one below 40k, plan on spending at least 15k.
Nice ride reef - tint the windows and stick a couple of extra antennas on it and everyone will slow down for you on the highway....
Thanks.. I can't wait to get it. It already has 20% windows which should be plenty dark :D
I've already thought about a couple 6' whips and stuff from JC Whitney --- but I won't.

I hope it doesn't turn into a project, but any RWD V8 car with a hint of performance potential has a way of turning in to that. I am hopefully going to just drive it and that's it. I'll have to get used to washing a daily driver again, but oh well.
SlowEBP should be able to work wonders.. I wish there was a detailer of his quality in Nashville.

SlowEBP should be able to work wonders.. I wish there was a detailer of his quality in Nashville.
For this car to be a daily driver, I wouldn't get a slowEBP job on it since it's a black car. From someone who has owned a black car for 11 years, the only way it will stay in good condition, is if you never drive it. I would spend all day on my car, and be afraid to drive it because of a chance of rain, or the would cut the grass at work, or something else. Wash it, wax it, drive it. Leave the slowEBP work to the show car, trust me. That's why I bought a silver Evo. :)

07-02-2008, 01:07 PM
Well, it wouldn't be an every 6 month thing. It would be a one time deal just to get a clean start with the car. He has the tools and knowledge and chemicals that I don't. By the time I bought it all I would be in for several hundred dollars for quality stuff and halfway to a slowebp detail.
I want the full nothing-left-out detail to start out with, and I can keep it up from there. I just hate the initial cleaning up of someone else's car.
MikeW
07-02-2008, 01:45 PM
Reef I will get it started for free and if you dont like it you can find someone to pay to get it better. I have all the stuff on hand. 1st clean-up's are a pain but once they are done it gets easier from there

I'm not putting anything on it to attempt to trick people into thinking I'm a cop.
I think the car itself does a good enough job of that, but that's not what I'm after.
He got the title today.. good chance I'll be getting it next weekend

All the details have been worked out. He's driving it down to me next Thursday on his way to Florida to get his other car.
The interior is in spectacular shape. For example, driver's seat:

And everything gets better from there. Disney has a guy who is going to go over it top to bottom slowebp style...
I'm looking for some Borla mufflers to have welded in. That's probably all I'll do to it*

Haha. Well, I like it. It's pretty clean for 130k miles.. sorry for the crappy pics, it was almost dark when I got finished cleaning it up. I'll get more later. I only spent a couple hours on it, it needs a little more TLC outside and inside to be up to par.
