Ive been told that there will be a (roughly) 415ish horsepower turbo v6 coming in 2010 which got my mind screamin SVO...but that may just be the sick, dememnted SVO lover that I have suppressed deep in the back of my memory tryin to get out lol.
We shall see!

I wouldn't doubt it. MotorTrend had a nice article about a year ago that mentioned that the upcoming CAFE standards combined with the high price of fuel would force more high performance cars to go to 4 and 6 cylinder engines with turbo or supercharger applications. It specifically mentioned the Mustang, Camaro, and <gasp> the Corvette!

IF Ford revives the SVO...I'll be there too...wonder what Jack Roush will do?
I'm sure Ford will build it, and it will be a good car, but it will get largely ignored because it will probably cost $35k.

Ford has needed a domestic turbo-four car to compete against the pacific rim imports for quite some time now. The problem is, it makes too much sense. Therefore they won't do it.

That would be the best way to make good power, and still have decent mileage. The EVO is at around 300whp and gets 26 mpg hwy.

So is the 4.6 mustang now, and on 87 octane. :)

Straight Vegetable Oil? :)
a guy i know with a C6 claims he's getting 30+ mpg highway because its geared to cruise at low rpms in 6th ... so i dont see why a high-powered Ford couldnt do the same
but either way, why would Ford revive SVO? i thought SVT was supposed to be the SVO replacement department or whatever? ... maybe im confused, i dont really know much about Ford Motor Co.

I don't run 87, but I do get over 26mpg and I'm pushing 470rwhp

Put the Mustang on a hearty diet and change that ugly ass body style again to something nice and lightweight with a turbo 4 and they would have a serious winner.
Or they could just bring in a nice new RS200 turbo 4 to revive the competition for the asian sports cars.

Yeah, but 4.6 Mustangs aren't exactly quick either....
EVO with a 6 speed gear box would probably do a little better, 5th in my car is pretty short.
