OK ive got a 1977 Rancharooo im working on and one of the problems are the brakes. The brakes will put you straight through the windsheild by bairly touching the pedal. Im talking less than a 1/4 in of pedal travel locks up the brakes. the booster is newer, and all the brakes are adjusted properly. I thought maybe the booster was getting to much vacuum so I tried reducing the port size but that did nothing.... Ive never seen this problem before! Its down right scary to drive! any ideas?

Drum/Disc?
Could have the wrong master cylinder on it...

Disc in the front drum in the rear... Some more history on the car/truck it had been completely dissasembled and reassembled and im almost 100% possitive the guy told me that its the same master cyl that was on it before he took it apart... It never acted like this before...

Check to make sure the lines to the M/C are right and that the front port is feeding teh rear brakes and the rear port is feeding the front brakes.

Thanks Disney, I didnt even think to look at that.... BUT wouldnt that make it do the opposite? if they were flip flopped the rear would be getting ALOT of brake but the front wouldnt be getting enough. Im guessing here since rear drum wheel cyl have alot less internal volume compared to a caliper.
All the brake come on hard but the fronts do lock up before the rears..
