~month ago installed new diff. Stock 31 spline Ford diff. Recently a noise occurs when I turn...its a little louder when I turn left...most noticable at lower speeds turning into something like a driveway. It sounds like a large dog whaling...I know thats a weird comparison...only thing I can think of.
I am diagnosis stupid...my thought is that it is in the spider gears or the diff clutches?
Again...only makes the noise when there is a difference in speed of the wheels.
Thoughts?

The ring and pinion is set wrong.

Set wrong how? It has a back lash of .012 (ford spec say .008-.014 are acceptable) the contact patch of the pinion to ring was down the middle like this http://www.tennesspeed.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8681&ppuser=2003 (http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/../gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8681&ppuser=2003)
Also...and again I am learning this is not a smart ass question...if the ring and pinion were set wrong...wouldn't it whine constantly? Why would it only do it while I was turning?http://www.tennesspeed.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8681&ppuser=2003http://www.tennesspeed.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8681&ppuser=2003

my dakota does this when turning only, limited slip dif, and it is annoying as all get out, but it never one wheel peels....

It sounds like you just need to put some Ford Friction Modified in the pumpkin.
R&P being set wrong will whine while driving straight. It's just the clutches.
