Well we hit the Crossville strip last night. I figured since lightning_2000 was going to have the truck there that I had better bring my A-game....:lol:

Luckily I never had to run him. Diz was working on the tune so the truck only saw one pass. When he finishes the tune, getting into the 6's won't be a problem.

In the meantime the work-Ranger pulled out some good times. My previous best was 9.80 at 78mph. This was with crappy 60's in the 2.3's.

Last night I ran a 8.73 at 84mph. My best 60' was 1.97. W00T!!! I was determined to get that beast under 2.0.

At the end of the day it is still a four cylinder work truck, but it sure was fun to bring out.

I still love that thing...wish I had gotten it when it was up for sale. I still think I may have to build a hot little square body ranger one day with a 2.3T

I definitely love the the new wheels. The front tires were a pain to find.

The square body Ranger is one of my favorites. It is also practical too. Four cylinder, turbo, 5 speed and its a truck. It is a complete package. Not to mention the killer brake and suspension setup that Jeff put on it.

We had the bottle brackets and main line ran, but we ran out of time. Hopefully it will be up for the next outing.

Talk about a sleeper!!!

Yea that tranny was hurting. After about 4 passes I droved third gear right into the dash. The weird thing was that it was still in neutral. I popped it back into neutral and then it went into gear.

The tranny lives to see another day!!!!

So glad to see it getting run. Had a blast building it, but I was never really going to do anything with it. The wheels are about perfect for it.

If it had a/c it would be perfect...

I could never have this much fun with the Merkur but I would be too afraid of hurting it. i can actually have fun with the Ranger.

Once I get the next couple mods on it I will bring it into town and hit you up.
