iPod Touch anyone?

Anyone here own/use an iPod Touch?

I have MAJOR iPhone envy, but I won't be able to get one until they get off the ATT network (if ever). So the next best thing? The Touch!!

I was looking at a 3rd Gen 32GB (or 64GB) Touch and wondered how they worked in comparison to the iPhone, and what the newer generations gain you.

I would use it mainly as a media storage (MP3 player) and as a toy in general. I'd like to hear how it's wireless works compared to an iPhone on 3G (or an Instinct like I have now).

So.... Thoughts?

I used an iTouch 16g for probably the last 6-8 months. I recently gave it to my wife, as I ended up buying a iPhone as I enjoyed the iTouch so much. It worked flawlessly for me. As long as you can pick up wifi, it's pretty damn fast. I downloaded a few select apps to it, but know that most apps are geared towards iPhone users.


My thoughts were to "get my feet wet" on the iTouch and if I liked it enough, I'd invest in an iPhone. Sure enough, it did everything i asked and more.

I have a iTouch. After buying Ashley the iPhone last year, she got me this for Christmas this past year. I love it. I do alot of my web browsing from it. IT has 99% of everything the iPhone has just cant call anyone. But you can Skype someone and get the headset with the mic and you can talk.

Had it since they first came out and it has been flawless. The rumor mill thinks a touch with a camera will be out before christmas but who knows.

The second Gen and up generally don't work with older dock connector chargers / cables / devices (like some older car audio head units). However, the newer ones have external volume controls and an external speaker so you don't need headphones to hear game sounds and other stuff.

If you get one, you must buy geodefense! Best portable game evar!

That would be sweeet if they had cameras. The new Nano has a video camera on it now. Why cant the touch?

I have on that I only use for music in the car... If you have a larger capacity iPod, I would be willing to trade...
