    Delk Customer Satisfaction Poll

Just curious where they stack up and to make sure it's not just horror stories being louder than success stories. I would definitely like them to have a successful business. Hopefully their rep and/or service will come around.

I am basing this off of 1 experience only, but was given the run around after I got there from being told on the phone they had what I needed. I had heard a lot of good stuff about them,at that time, and let them keep my money to special order the parts(n2o jets) and never got them. Oh, well.... it was only like 20 bucks.

Completely satisfied as long as I have delt with some of the old employee's, i.e. John, Brent's wife (I think or was it Heath's).

I wait for Eddie to weigh in on the subject with the experience with his Camaro.
It's not racism if you hate everybody.

Every 15 seconds a crime is commited with a gun.
Every 14 seconds a Liberal is pissing and moaning about how they didn't get their way.

Why can't the criminals shoot a Liberal every 15 seconds for the pissing and moaning they do every 14 seconds. Seems like eventually the problem would solve itself.

I have dyno'd a car there, and they were more than helpful... even letting me f- around and take up time (their time). I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the guys (I think that one was John, don't know) a couple of years ago, and they seemed to have their act together, were knowledgeable, and liked to see the customer happy.

As far as paying them for work on a car, I have never done so. Not sure of how they are now - I have not been out there in 3 years I'd say.

i've spent alittle bit of coin up in Delk. i've always left the place giddy and excited about driving my car on that long road by the speedway. Matt did a 4.10 gear install with chip and dyno tune back in 2004, in 2006 me and a friend installed a NX wet kit on the car...Brent and Matt dyno tuned it then, subframes were put on inbetween there, i bought $1300 worth of rearend parts from them, and they also did a kickass job of installing a Wild Rides S-Box on my car after damaging the driver side torque box really good. John even helped me out one day with some free troubleshooting when i was testing out a window switch i had just installed for my nitrous system...yes, he even found the problem

I have had a couple of dealings with them.

    1. They installed a pro-chamber on my old silver GT. Pretty simple job i would think, but a couple of the nuts were threaded wrong on one of the flanges where the pipes bolt together, destroying the threads. Not an issue since I had planned on leaving it on the car, but it was definitely a rush job and the quality was not there. This was during the 40th anniversary show at the speedway, so they may have been covered up, I can't remember.

    2. I stopped in there once and asked for a power window regulator out of their junkyard. Someone asked me if I needed help, and I told them. The guy was like "Hold on I'll go check." I waited like 30 minutes and he never came back. Finally, someone else asked me if I needed help. I told him I was already being helped by someone but they disappeared. The second guy went to check.

He came back and said they had one, but it was in a junker door and they were really slammed and they could not pull it then. It was on a Saturday. I said fine no problem, I'll pay and then you can send it to me (this was after I moved to Knoxville). Yes, they would ship it to me free since I had a hassle of waiting so long.

A couple of weeks go by and no regulator. I call them and they remember me, but they still had not pulled the part yet. They'd get right on it and ship it out today. A couple more weeks go by and still no regulator. Same thing. Call again and they tell me once more they would pull it and ship it immediately. A couple days later it finally came. A big hassle for a minor used part IMO.

I will say this, I may be doing some engine work to my car sometime or another, and I may give Delk a shot, or at least let them "bid" on the work. I still need to research it further. I would like to do as much of the work as I can myself, but the 32v modular is not the simplest motor to work on and this would be by myself with little experience.

Anyone know the guy with a cobra that had an auto swapped in and a mach computer? I met him at corral day a few years ago. Delk did the work on his car, just curious if he is a membre here?

They did subframes, and 4:10 gears on the Cobra circa 99. John was there then and was a great very professional. Gears were great, welds on the subframes looked like my 2 year old did it.

I would use them for again for gears, tuning, and basic stuff that I'm not capable of doing myself. I don't plan on owning a Mustang again any time soon so it doesn't really matter.

    This is Eddie.

Overall if I had to give Delk a rating 1-10, i'd probably give them a 7.

The vendors that they had doing my motor were not making them look good (Keith Craft Racing etc etc). The turnaround time for them was kinda horrid. I will not blame Delk for that.

They did well on installing the parts on my car (turbo kit, fuel system, tranny, engine, rear end etc...) I mean that is a lot of **** to install. However I was not 100% happy with the tune (one time the car cut off during a WOT run) Rather than take it back to Delk to have them retune it, I decided to look for other options.

So I had it shipped to SpeedInc in IL after talking to them about what would be best for a turbo car. They said that converting it over to 2bar Speed Density would probably be the best thing for a turbo car. I believed them, since they had a turbo LS1 shop car running 8's in the 1/4.

That was like 2 years ago. My car runs like a champ. I had it in the shop one in those 2 years to fix a fuel leak that suddenly showed up while I jacked the car up to change the oil. I took it to Delk, and they had it done and fixed up in less than a week. No problems since.

It was sometimes hard to get in touch with them on the phone in the past, but I think they have improved on that. I'm on AIM so if I have to get in touch I just send a quick IM.

A lot of people asked about my car and why it spent so much time at Delk. I think the vendors back then were not speedy enough, plus I kept switching up stuff (alum. 346 to iron 370, log style turbo kit to long tube style exhaust kit, T60 turbo to T76 turbo, 42lb injectors to 60lb injectors, 4L60E to TH400) because some combinations just didn't work.

I will be taking my car there again for them to do brake/suspension work.

They did a tune and subframe install for me. The Subframe welds looked like Stevie Wonder did them and I spent the better part of a weekend grinding the welds down, removing the subframes and reinstalling them on my own. I should have just did them myself from the get go (didn't feel like messing with it, in the end I did it anyway, and flushed my money down the drain.)

The tune wasn't very good either. It would stall at random times (WOT, part throttle, coming to a stop light etc.) Once I installed my wideband O2, I decided to datalog it. During WOT, the AFR was so low it wouldn't even register (the gauge only reads down to 10:1) During partial throttle cruise it would hang around 10.5-11.2/11.4 tops.) The car was loading up big time. I fouled out numerous sets of plugs, and wasted a bunch of gas before I fixed it on my own. I just used a couple of back roads for the WOT runs, and did some nice long cruises on the interstate to get the AFR where I was happy with it. The car pulls harder, and doesn't stall out anymore.

The guys down there are great to talk to, and overall they treated me well. I just wasn't happy with the quality of the work. Because of that I won't be returning for anything else. I will do all my own work from now on. If I need it to be put on a Dyno, I'll trailer it to Modular Powerhouse.

i had them order and install a flowmaster cat back on my cobra. Cost me about $600. Sounds great but they forgot to reinstall two of the rubber exhaust hangers and the pipes scraped my axle tubes going over speed bumps.
